With his eight month contract at Codemasters having come to an end, James is absolutely delighted to have joined British game developers Blitz Games Studios, working as a Quality Assurance Technician.
One of the most exciting new additions to the site is the 'Videos' page. Although James' music composition work (audio files) can be found on the 'Music' page, the addition of a video section allows him to share a few examples of the video inspirations that he composed to. Not only this, but it also features music that James has an arranged/edited and performed on (in studio and live performance).
On Saturday 20th August, a selection of James' arrangements for the Leicester-based 663 Ensemble were performed at a concert at St. James' church in Birstall. It is with great pleasure that he can reveal that the event raised an amount of £213.50 for the Mercy Ships charity, with a further sum of £50 also being donated to the church music fund.

The past few months have been rather eventful! James is currently working for BAFTA-winning game developers/publishers Codemasters as a Quality Assurance Technician. Since starting in January of this year, he has completed work on Operation Flashpoint: Red River (Xbox 360 / Playstation 3 / PC), as well as the Valley of Death DLC. James also offered assistance on DiRT3 (Xbox 360) and Bodycount (Playstation 3) before beginning work on Formula One 2011 (Nintendo 3DS).
Prior to starting at Codemasters, he completed work on two freelance audio projects. The first was sound design for a large unannounced game for XBLA and will be released in 2011. The second was additional composition for an indie game entitled The Undergrounder, which is being developed by Lowpoly Studios for PC/Mac/Linux.
James has also been recording instrumental parts for the debut albums of two new American bands. He has been recording 'cello parts for People On Vacation (Jaret Reddick of Bowling For Soup and Ryan Hamilton of Smile Smile) and saxophone parts for Erik Chandler and the Mulberry Street Socialites (Erik Chandler, also of Bowling For Soup). Both of these albums are being produced by Linus of Hollywood and will be released in 2011. He also joined Texan band People On Vacation in April on stage at the Leicester O2 Academy 2 (please see the 'Videos' section).

October brought great news, with James being informed that he had been awarded a Merit for his master's degree. He shall be graduating at the end of November.
James is currently working on two games, but is unable to divulge any more information at this moment in time. As the saying goes; 'patience is a virtue!'
He has also been working with Leicestershire-based chamber group 'The 663 Ensemble' on a number of new arrangements, which are set to be performed in the near future.

Although it had to remain secret earlier this year, it can now be revealed that James' period spent at Rare / Microsoft was spent working on Kinect Sports for the Xbox 360, contributing sound design and instrumental performance. Kinect Sports is due for release this November.

James recently contributed sound design to a forthcoming update for 'Video Poker HD', a game for the Apple iPad and iPhone developed by GeeLogic Software Co. Ltd. The update should be available in the Appstore in the very near future.

Over the past couple of months, James has been working hard on a new production called 'One Hundred Days Before the Night'. In collaboration with writer Richard Peach, James is currently acting as the Production Director, organising the first performance of this entirely new work, which will take place on Wednesday 19th May at the Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry. He has also recently composed the music for another short film. Entitled 'Nothing But Words', the film will be available to watch in the very near future.
James has been working on numerous projects, but is unable to share any more information at this moment in time. Keep your eyes and ears open, though... it shouldn't be long!

Finally, James has begun working as a part-time lecturer at Coventry University, teaching on the Music / Music Composition undergraduate courses.

Happy New Year! A very exciting year lies ahead...
World Empires Live is set for release within the forthcoming months. The game has been progressing incredibly well and is entering the final testing stages. New music tracks from this PC/Mac/Linux game will be uploaded to this site soon.
James will be making a television appearance on BBC Songs of Praise on Sunday 10th January 2010, performing with the Coventry Singers. Please tune in!

James has been appointed Musical Director for the Coventry University Orchestra. In addition to this, he has been made Assistant Music Director for the CUSU Musical Theatre Society.
Finally, James' interview with Bowling for Soup drummer Gary Wiseman is set to feature in the next edition of the Coventry Source Newspaper.

James has been working as a composer for Endeavor Bros Interactive Software on a new iPhone / Android game, which will be released before the end of 2009. Whilst details are still being kept secret at this moment in time, a small teaser site has been revealed.
Meanwhile, James is very excited to reveal that he will be interviewing Bowling for Soup on Thursday 22nd October for the Coventry Source Newspaper. Anyone that knows James will know he is a HUGE Bowling for Soup fan!

Adding to his recent journalistic immersion, James has recently joined the e-magazine, www.roomthirteen.com as a writer. Responsible for CD/live reviews and interviews, he already has three features published.
James also completed a recording session for the BBC programme, Songs of Praise. Singing as part of the Coventry Singers, the recording will be televised in early 2010.

James has recently joined The Source newspaper as a writer. His contributions were first featured in the Coventry-based newspaper on the 25th September 2009.

Recent months have proved very exciting! James composed the music for the iPhone game, Snakie, which is now available to purchase from the Apple iTunes AppStore.
Cloudberry Kingdom, an Xbox Live game that James contributed music to, placed 10th (out of 350+ entries) in Microsoft's Dream Build Play 2009 competition.
James recently achieved a First Class Degree (with Honours) in Music Composition and Professional Practice from Coventry University.
